Volkswagen Beetle I
bought a 2000 Beetle 2 months ago and have had nothing but problems with
it since! I knew the airbag light was on which the dealer agreed to take
care of, but has not been fixed yet ! The dealer sent me to one vw place
to fix it and didn't believe what they said needed to be fixed! So, they
sent me to another vw place and because the thing was reset that vw place
couldn't see the problem! The check engine light also came on then went
off before bringing it in! The check engine light came on again and was
repaired today and rowe of Portland paid for the repair, yah! However, vw
auburn said they didn't have the part to fix the airbag today and I would
have to come back another day! When I went in the car and started it the
oil light came on and started blinking! I went in and told Eric and he
knew before I finished telling him because his mechanic saw me coming! The
oil light had never come on before that day!!! Boy was I pissed off by
then, I felt like driving the car in the freaking ocean!!! I couldn't
drive my car home and they didn't have time to see what was wrong and
didn't have any rentals thank goodness the shuttle guy was nice enough to
drive us home, my almost 4 year old and me! Also, all the knobs seem to be
breaking! The mirror switch and window switch they fixed but now the
e-brake knob has come off and the gas door switch is broken! I have to
open the trunk and pull the gas door open that way! They also told me that
their was no cruise light which I know there is because it says so in the
book and there is a space where it is suppose to light up and doesn't!!!
The clock is supposed to switch from military and Celsius to Fahrenheit
and hourly and doesn't! At least they put it on hourly though! Also, I was
shutting the moon rough and heard a noise, opened it back up again to
reveal another broken piece on the stupid car! Some kind of piece that
covers the track!! What a pain in the butt this car has been!! I have
spent at least 4 days in the shop with it ,like that's what I want to do
on my days off! Oh ya there was a piece of the guard hanging down from the
engine area and I was backing up in my yard and the thing started getting
ripped off-another $300 to fix they said! I love the Beetles but, hate
this one RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! OMG what a pain, I had better
luck with my $2000 dollar car then this $14,0000 dollar piece of junk!!!
Sincerely Frustrated

AC blows hot air, can't seem to fix after four months of trying and
$6000.00 (but under warranty - only 5000 miles on it). Offered a buyout or
swap by dealer, but Field Manager won't approve it. Got car back for 7th
time (only takes 4 to be a lemon in our state), and car still
intermittently blows HOT air instead of cooling. They've replaced
everything that can be replaced, and I've had 6 rental cars. I had my car
for 2 weeks in June, 2 weeks in July, never had it in August, got it back
September 3, and it's back again (September 18) at the dealer for the same
problem. VW needs to honor the offer made to me and give me a different
vehicle. (Another VW is better than the Kia rental car I've got right
now.) I've had four Jetta's as rentals and 2 Kia's. No air conditioner has
done the strange things my Beetle's AC has done. Once, I picked up my car
from the service department, drove 10 minutes, the AC quit cooling for the
entire drive back to the dealership and then TURNED BACK ON as I pulled
into the parking lot of the dealer. Another time I picked up my car,
started on the 75 mile drive home, the AC quit about 20 miles away from
the dealer. I called the service rep, told me the AC had quit again, told
him we were turning around to bring it back. On the way back, the car in
front of me hit a recap tire, the tire flew into the air and hit my front
end. It did body damage to my car and poked a hole in the condenser. This
would never have happened if VW could have fixed my car on the first,
second, third, or fourth time I had taken it in for repairs. On this fifth
return, I had body damage, insurance, and deductible. Even then, the Field
Manager wouldn't honor the offer. After the body work was done, the car
still didn't cool (proving the hole in the condenser had nothing to do
with the problem.) The field manager kept it another two weeks, replaced
more parts, and two days ago, the AC blew hot air at me again. My car is
cute, loaded with all the options except for an air condition.
