Mercury Cougar
The engine would die when driving it and had to get a tow truck 90% of the
time. Multiple electrical problems with the lights and ignition. The
Lincoln-Mercury dealer never could find the problem while the piece of
junk was under warranty. However, when my lemon cougar was 150 miles out
of warranty, it broke down again with the same problem. Guess what? The
dealer found the problem. It was in the computer. How amazing! And the
best part was that he wanted me to pay for it. $650.00! When I called Ford
Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, the lady in Customer Service got
sassy with me and nothing got done. Needless to say, I own two General
Motors vehicles now. GM is not without fault however, because I did have
engine problems with one, but General Motors and the Dealer stood behind
the vehicle. When my minivan was in the shop, they made sure I had a
loaner to use at NO COST to me! They gave me an extended warranty and a
one year lubrication service at no charge. They also made one of my
monthly car payments for me. The Chevy dealer continues to still call me
at times to see how the vehicle is doing. No more problems. Sure do wish I
could have said the same for Ford Motor Company.
